One Submission a Week Challenge

After reading an interesting article on ‘How to Write a Story a Week’, the Insomniac Owls have decided to take on the challenge but with a twist. As we know procrastination can get the better of us, but what’s worse is boredom. We’ve decided to keep things fresh by varying our weekly submissions.

We promise to submit one of the following each:

  • Short stories
  • Poems
  • Scenes or moments
  • Comic strips
  • Writing prompts
  • Fan-fiction
  • Emotional and thought provoking reviews

Nothing beats practice to hone our skill. You can have all the talent in the cosmos but without getting your hands dirty you’ll never master the skill.

The challenge will go on until the end of 2015. That’s potentially 112 submissions!

Doesn’t matter how good the piece is as long as we write. Every week we miss we’ll put a fine in a box and the writer with the most submissions by the end of the year will go home with the spoils!

We welcome any ideas or inspirations from our readers. We’re looking forward to hearing from you. If you have any suggestions please comment or send an email to: sanguineowl@gmail.com

Our week begins Sunday 3rd May 2015, first submissions will be delivered by Saturday 9th May 2015.

Wish us luck!

  1. What an idea! Seems very interesting. This is a variant from the personal blog (I have an English one) where we can procrastinate sometimes for months in a row. On the other side being an owl myself, the insomnia can be put to a benefit, writing for other fellow insomniacs, texts that can appeal, entertain or support. Being also among like-minded persons can ensure readability and feedback.

    1. Thank you! It has been a while, we have been thinking about picking it up again. It was great practice and a great way to get over procrastination.
